The Forum was recently hosted on two occasions by Ken Finnegan and Philip Gannon where they outlined their plans to transform the former ferry passenger terminal in Dun Laoghaire into the Harbour Innovation Campus (HIC), a digital technology innovation hub. Last Tuesday 31st of July, the day of our last meeting, council planners gave permission to Philip Gannon to lease the building and he will now commence an investment of more than €20m to transform it. The HIC comprises of more than 7,000 sq. metres and has the potential to deliver and support up to 1,000 jobs, together with a rent and rates roll of €15m over the next ten years. The Forum wishes Philip, Ken and all the team at HIC every success for the future and we look forward to working closely with them. The HIC is scheduled to open in Spring next year.
