Reuse of IT equipment - Camara
Camara Education is a social enterprise that reuses technology for education in disadvantaged communities in Ireland and Africa. With demand for its service outstripping the available supply, Camara is urging companies and individuals to donate their equipment.
The ICT industry has a strong record in supporting Camara with previous and current partners including Dell, Intel, Microsoft, Salesforce, HP and IBM.
Camara relies on individuals and business to donate their old IT equipment giving the next generation of children an essential 21st century skill: digital literacy. To date Camara has supplied over 32,000 computers to schools with over 350,000 students gaining digital literacy.
It is reported that over 200,000 working computers are discarded in Ireland every year half of which could be reused. The Camara service includes secure data destruction for all clients. Camara is currently providing this service for no charge.
To reuse your IT equipment in education, please call 01-6522673 or email computers@camara.org or more information go to www.camara.org.
Salesforce Ireland is delighted to have chosen Camara Education to manage our computer disposal needs. Camara provide an ethical and environmentally friendly reuse solution for IT disposal. It is very satisfying to know that the computers have been refurbished and are being reused in schools to benefit the education of children in disadvantaged schools.
