Enterprise/Incubation Centres
County Enterprise boards offer Business Development Support for businesses in the growth phase after the initial 18 months start up period. The Board's support for each project is strictly limited by the amount of eligible expenditure incurred ( max 50%). The overall maximum support is €80,000. In general the level of funding will also relate to the level of employment provided in the short to medium term at an indicative rate of €8000 per new job created.
Incubation centres offer space and support to entrepreneurs who want to develop their projects within a supportive structure and surrounded by an entrepreneurial community. Benefits include but are not limited to:
- Mentoring on key aspects of business development, including market research, finance and R&D commercialisation
- Networked community of entrepreneurs
- Close proximity to research and technological expertise if located on a Third level campus
- Some have their own structured programmes to assist in the development of the new venture. These are normally year-long programmes that provide knowledge-intensive start-ups with the expertise, networks and skills to develop a successful business
