Work Placement Schemes

IBEC Gradlink Overview: The Grad link scheme is similar to the FAS WPP in that companies offer graduates internships for a period of nine months. Graduates will receive their social welfare allowances while on Gradlink. Postings are made on the website and graduates apply directly to the company. The programme is aimed at graduates.
The FAS Work Placement Programme (WPP) allows unemployed people to gain work experience with a company while retaining the social welfare benefits. This obviates the need for companies to make a payment to those on the work experience programme. There are 2,000 places available. These internships last for nine months. The programme has two streams.
The Export Orientation Programme is a grant aided graduate placement programme which assists Irish-based companies in reaching their full export potential. Many SME's do not have the resources to commit a full-time member of staff to source and service a foreign market. Encompassing all industry sectors, the Programme provides companies with qualified and highly motivated graduates at a grant aided cost of €10,000 for EU placements and €13,000 for non EU placements.
