Funding for Collaborative Research between Industry and Research Institutes
Innovation Vouchers (Enterprise Ireland):
Funding for brief investigations, €5,000 each.
This scheme is open to any small company with a business opportunity or problem that they want to explore with a Third Level Research Institute.
The objective of the Innovation Voucher initiative is to build links between Ireland's Research Institutes and small businesses and create a cultural shift in the small business community's approach to innovation.
By linking up with Invest Northern Ireland, Enterprise Ireland can now offer voucher holders access to an additional 10 Knowledge Providers in Northern Ireland.
2012 schedule closing dates: 31st January, 28th March
Standard Applications: Will be open for applications in January, March. (open for applications from 12th March 2012 to 28th March 2012).
Other dates for 2012 will follow later in the year.
Pooled Applications: will be announced early in 2012.
New 50-50 co-funded Fast Track applications: May be submitted anytime.

Innovation Partnerships (Enterprise Ireland):
Funding for significant research collaborations, typically up to €500K.
This initiative offers financial support to companies who engage in collaborative research projects with Irish universities and Institutes of Technology. Enterprise Ireland provides grants of 50% to 70% towards eligible costs of the research project.

Industry Lead Research Partnerships (Enterprise Ireland)
Industry-Led Research Programme supports medium-term 'shared agenda' research activity with a Third Level Institute (e.g. Financial Services, eLearning) among companies who could not afford to fund such research on their own.

Fusion (InterTradeIreland):
This is an all-island technology transfer programme, FUSION, can help a company to bolster their business's bottom line and get ahead of the competition.
Through FUSION, support packages worth up to £29,500/€33,150 are available for companies to undertake a 12 month innovation project.
Your company will be partnered with a third-level institution with the specialist expertise you need and a high calibre science, engineering or technology graduate.
The graduate is employed by you and is based in your company throughout the project with mentoring from the academic partner and InterTradeIreland FUSION consultant.

Enterprise Partnership Scheme (IRCSET):
The Enterprise Partnership Scheme is an initiative whereby IRCSET in partnership with private enterprise and eligible public bodies awards postgraduate Scholarships and postdoctoral Fellowships to talented researchers. The Scheme offers researchers the opportunity to work closely with a relevant industry partner while completing postgraduate or postdoctoral research as well as providing exposure to a commercially orientated research environment.
IRCSET pays two thirds of every award and requests the enterprise partner to contribute the remaining one third amount.
Postgraduate awards are €24,003.00 per annum. PhD scholarships are for 3 years and Masters scholarships are for one year.
IRCSET pays €16,002.00 per annum and the enterprise partner pays €8,001.00 per annum IRCSET's postdoctoral Fellowships are 2 year awards and are €41,550.00.
IRCSET pays €27,700.00 per annum and the enterprise partner pays €13,850.00 per annum.
